Steve's Story: My name is Steve. I live in Dundee, Scotland. I am currently out on bail for a rape accusation. I was out for my best friends 18th birthday. We went to a few bars. At the end of the night, I went to my friends to unwind. I was planning to stay, but there was no room to sleep on the floor, so I tiredly headed home.

On my way home, I noticed a sick girl leaning over a wall. I asked her if she was alright. I admit that I was flirtatious as I started to walk her up the road. She invited me up to house for drinks. I accepted and politely drank a few glasses of wine with her.

We mucked around on the Internet for a while. She gave me a tour of her house. Later that night, she asked me to leave. I happily agreed and was going to leave. As I approached the front door, I made a pass by kissing her. She happily agreed. We both went into the bedroom. One thing led to another.

I later learned that this girl was allegedly a lesbian. She is 21 years old. I am 17. After we had sex, she asked me to leave in quite an urgent manner. I was baffled, got my things together, and left.

Two days later, I received a phone call from my grandmother. She explained that the police were looking for me. I was in town at the time, so I decided to go to the police station to see why they are looking for me.

I was questioned. I was confused and in disbelief. I have never been so scared and upset in my whole life, and I’ve had quite a hard life. My mother was murdered and father died before I was 6 years old.

If anything, I like women. I and respect women. This girl ruined the relationship with my girlfriend of nine months. Well, in all honesty, that was my fault. But, not to this degree.

I spend every single day worrying and worrying about what is going to happen next. All the appointments with my solicitor are ultimately unnecessary. I did not do anything wrong except cheat on my girlfriend. It is purely a consent case, as no protection was used during sex.

I have become distant with my close family and my girlfriend. I would know if I had raped somebody. I am so scared that I will go to jail. I have heard all the witness statements. In my eyes, it isn’t looking good for me.

Everyone is telling me that it’s looking good. I don’t understand why. I dont have anyone to back my story. Nothing but my word. I am a nervous, but well known person. Most of my friends are girls. No joke. I have had two long-lasting relationships. I’ve never done anything inappropriate while drunk. I’ve never made women feel uncomfortable during intercourse.

The things she is saying about me are destroying me. I understand the people on this site who say they don’t think they will ever be the same again. I’m just a boy that had fun one night. It has now turned out to be a complete disaster, because one girl regrets sleeping with me for god knows what reason.

I’m sorry about the anger I’ve expressed here, but I had to write it down. I feel much much better. Thanks for listening, anyone who reads it. And, also, I hope girls understand that accusations like this can completely destroys people. Anyone who does this should be ashamed , and should be checked for mental health problems.
